Resolution

The pixel dimensions of a video, such as 1080p (Full HD) or 4K, determining how sharp it looks.

Resolution is the number of pixels in each frame — 1080p is 1920×1080, 4K is roughly four times that. Higher resolution looks sharper, especially on large screens, but produces bigger files. Most short-form platforms display at 1080p, so exporting vertical clips at 1080×1920 is the practical sweet spot.

Upscaling can't add detail that wasn't captured, so start from the highest-quality source you have.
